yesterday i got up at 2:30, drove the 15 minutes from my house to kohls, spent 20 minutes trying to get a hot chocolate from mcdonalds, and then braved the cold, and the group of scary, chainsmoking women both infront and behind me in line as I waited for the doors to open at 4 am. my shopping partner and i had snatched our deals, checked out, and were back in the car by 4:33 and on our way to the mall.
by around noon, I was on my way home and by 3:30 I was able to snatch 2 hours of a nap.
I've been going shopping on blackfriday for many years, but this year i couldn't help but tear up a few times when I'd grab a shirt, or pick up something that would be perfect for daddy, before I remembered how different this upcoming christmas was going to be.
