today was an emotional whirlwind; a little bit of everything really.

i went to the soca dept's holiday party, and got to meet the boy's coworkers, had some great hummus and some of the best tabbouleh i've ever eaten. there was a great white elephant exchange; the boy got some tupperware abandoned in the office fridge, and i got some early 90s era used cd's. we've already got some crafty ideas for next year.

afterwards, i went to sell back one of my textbooks wound up feeling very out of place, and very anxious about my decision to go back to school. it was pouring the rain down as i parked in the mountainlair garage and walked over to the bookstore. there was no line and so i assumed everything would go smoothly, however i obviously missed the memo that i would need my 700 number to do anything, including sell back books. i have no clue what my 700 number is, and the girl behind the counter says to me "uh, well don't you remember filling it in on tests?" with enough skepticism to fill the coliseum. I looked at her and said "well thank you for sucessfully making me feel completely out of place." then i walked into the vestibule area, called admissions and records, got my stupid number, went back in and got my 49.75 back for my 112 dollar book. *sigh*

sidebar: i had no clue the wvu bookstore sold vera bradley??!??

i wound up at the mall to return some things and ran into someone i used to go to church with from braxton. i talked to her for a while and found out that someone very special to me was in the hospital. out of respect for his privacy i won't say anything more about that, only that i am praying that what he is having done tomorrow will bring good news.
