on wednesday denny's will be offering a free grand slamwich with the purchase of any grand slam.

the grand slamwich features scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, mayonnaise and american cheese between two pieces of maple-glazed toast. i was unable to find nutritional info for it but i would love to see if the sat fats reach the triple digits.

the adult grand slam nutritional info - which i know i have seen on the denny's website before, has been removed...odd eh? the junior grand slam - which we are suposed to be feeding our children - contains 380 calories - not a horrible number for breakfast - but with 18 grams of fat, 6 grams sat fats, nearly half a day's sodium -1050 mg, and a staggering, horrifying 245 mg of cholesterol (!!!) that' s a different story...this is why we need mandatory nutritional information on menus and message boards.

is this part of the economic stimulus package for cardiologists? tsk-tsk denny's, tsk tsk.

*******UPDATE***********
according to Lancaster Online, the grandslamwich contains:
Total calories: 1,320. Fat grams: 89. Dietary fiber: 4 grams. Carbs: 72 grams. Manufacturer's suggested retail price: $5.

Add a side of hashbrowns and you are starting your day with 1520 calories and 101 grams of fat!!!!

i'm all for a free breakfast...but there are MUCH better choices they could have offered!

on the bright side, the steak egg and cheese bagel, hashbrowns from mcdonalds has less than half the fat as just that grandslamwich alone without sides

Oh that's ridiculous... we went out for breakfast this morning, I had greasy french toast, I don't feel so bad now.
