today i had a very small portion of a decadent albeit strange combination that i have enjoyed since i was a child. ice cream mixed with mashed up potato chips. now before you spit your beverage all over your keyboard, in thoughts that after killing myself at the gym for the past few days, i would commit such diet sabatoge...rest assured it was breyers fat free chocolate ice cream with maybe a tablespoon of crushed baked lays. i know it sounds kind of weird, but it is definately in the same taste family as french fries dipped in frostys....obviously not as sinfully good, but none the less...
it brought back memories of post birthday party nights when we actually had potato chips and ice cream in our house, and my parents were tucked away in bed, and i would sneak into the kitchen and get a huge bowl of hagan strawberry ice cream and lays potato chips, go back to my room, and let the big O in my mouth commence (gee, i wonder why i got fat?)
I remember that while i was mixing this creation up, i was talking to myself like a cooking show host (there was no food tv back then but i watched julia), and the dialouge was somewhere along the lines of:
"yes and the restaurant will be opening soon - we will be serving ice cream and potato chip sundaes. you can also get thick sliced american cheese sandwiches with doritoes crushed on them, with sides of funions, and all meals will be served with an appetizer of mountain dew and mini chocolate donuts."
apparently, when i was 8, i had the taste buds of a pregnant pot head.
